The plain cup is manufactured to the highest levels of precision; nonetheless, it offers a cost-effective and simple solution. Our array of flanged cup tapered roller bearings are similar to the plain cup, also consisting of a single row of bearings but designed for easy and accurate installation onto the housing.

We also stock a range of integral spring carrier cup type taper roller bearings. These are also single row bearings but have an extended outer ring containing a number of springs. The outer ring is left to slide independently in the housing; as a result, the force from the springs constantly maintains a bearing system pre-load. This is particularly useful for temperature-variable conditions, with the springs counteracting thermal expansion of the housing.
