1. Grease lubrication

The re-lubrication of bearings is best carried out during planned equipment shutdowns and replenished on a regular basis, with the old grease removed or squeezed out through drain holes.The nozzle should be wiped clean before adding fresh grease.If there is no nozzle in the bearing box, the cover or end cover of the bearing box should be opened so as to remove the old grease and replace it with fresh grease of the same type after cleaning.

2. Lubricating oil

Check the oil level and oil quality of the lubricating oil regularly. Under normal circumstances, the normal oil level should be within the range of 1/3 ~ 2/3 of the equipment oil level window or designated.The oil level displayed in the oil cup only represents the oil replenishment capacity, while the oil level in the bearing box meets the operation requirements. Oil replenishment can be considered if the oil level in the oil cup is less than 1/4 of its total volume.

Check and fill the method, take out a small amount of lubricating oil as sample and compare it with fresh lubricating oil. Competent units may consider conducting oil test to ensure that the oil quality is qualified.If the sample looks cloudy, it may be the result of mixing with water, commonly known as oil emulsification, at which point the lubricating oil should be replaced.

If the sample length darkens or thickens, it may indicate that the oil has begun to carbonize and the old oil should be completely replaced.If possible, flush the oil line with fresh lubricating oil.When replacing lubricating oil, make sure that the new and old lubricating oil are the same, and replenish the oil level that meets the requirements.

Use oil bath type lubrication system, if the oil temperature is below 60℃ (140°F), and the oil is not contaminated, the oil can be replaced once a year.If the oil temperature is 60-100℃ (140-210°F), the oil needs to be changed four times a year.If the oil temperature is 100-120℃ (210-250°F), the oil needs to be changed once a month.If the oil temperature is above 120℃ (250°F), the oil needs to be changed once a week.

Proper installation and maintenance are important factors in the normal operation of the bearing. At the same time, care must be taken to keep the bearing clean.Bearings must be protected from contaminants and moisture and must be properly mounted and lubricated.In addition, bearing alignment design, the condition of the oil seal, the form of lubricant and the replacement cycle and specialized maintenance also play an important role, which must be paid attention to.
